Since 1981, Hospice of Yuma has served the Yuma County community as the only nonprofit hospice. Regardless of a person’s ability to pay, Hospice of Yuma is here to provide skilled professional care, comfort and compassion, and dignity during the end-of-life stage. Because we are a nonprofit, we rely on donations and fundraising events to go toward the Charitable Care Program, which helps people without insurance or the ability to pay for service. We’ve been fortunate in all of our years to count on the support of countless sponsors, donors, and supporters who have made these fundraisers a success so that we can continue with our mission.
The P.K. Hodges Golf Tournament began many years ago in 1985. It is distinguished in that it is one of the few tournaments that takes place over the course of a weekend at two different venues to provide a variety of play. We appreciate the sponsors and golfers who support us each year, especially those who have continually partnered with us, making a tradition of golf and philanthropy.
Our golf tournament was formed many years ago because of the community’s need for quality hospice care regardless of a person’s lack of insurance or ability to pay. Hospice of Yuma’s mission, in fact, is to provide the terminally ill in our community with the opportunity to face the end of life with dignity without having to worry about how much that will cost. The funds raised during this event help in several ways which includes supporting the families by putting in place a team comprised of a physician, nurse, certified nurse assistant, social worker, and chaplain. The funds also take care of the cost of medications, medical equipment, and supplies. The support you give goes directly towards alleviating the pain and anxiety that our patients and their families experience, and we are grateful that your generosity helps us provide for them at a time when they need compassion and care the most.

Support Hospice of Yuma in our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea event to celebrate Mom and all of the wonderful things she’s brought to our lives. Join us for this afternoon of light refreshments, tea, entertainment and a silent auction to benefit the patients and families served by Hospice of Yuma. Don your best hat to add to the festive afternoon, and feel free to invite the special women in your life. Tickets are $25.00 each, and attendees ages 10 and up are welcome.

“I Make a Difference” Giving Campaign
As Yuma County’s only non-profit hospice, Hospice of Yuma has to differentiate itself from the for-profit hospices in town. Well, in plain terms, the difference is YOU. Because of an incredibly generous community, we have been able to make Hospice of Yuma the kind of place that is known for providing the best in professionalism, quality & skilled care, and compassion in order for our patients to have dignity and quality of life during their end-of-life phase. That’s why this annual campaign is called “I Make a Difference.” Because you can and you do.
A regular day of care for a patient requires at least $160.00.
What does the patient get in return?
- Physician and Nurse who make regular rounds to check on patient, document changes, and provide care and symptom management
- Medications & Medical Equipment needed for patient care
- Certified Nurse Assistants who attend to patients’ personal care needs
- Social Workers to listen and guide a patient and their family on things that concern them
- Chaplains to offer spiritual support and lend a sympathetic ear
All of this amounts to Comfort...Personalized Care...The sense of being taken care of during a difficult time with a team who will be there every step of the way.

In the spirit of giving in the month of December, light a light and place an angel on your holiday tree. For each contribution to the Light-a-Light Program, you will receive an angel ornament in memory of your loved ones or in honor of your personal heroes. Your honoree will also be notified of your thoughtfulness.
